Former Hasidic Jews Reveal Hidden World

In the heart of New York City, a deeply religious community has created its own secluded island, where Yiddish is the primary language, men wear towering black hats and long robes even on the most sweltering summer day, and mothers lead broods of eight or 10 children.

  1. These young people are a charpah & busha to the Jewish people. But, this might be what is wrong with the ultra let's say, Satmar group and the like. Extremism will always lead some to rebellion; as if in their teen years they think they understand anything and know better than their parents and elders. This shows how wise it is to keep them insulated but not crossing the line where it becomes extreme in these modern times. A perfect example of knowing how to be a good Jew and yet dealing with the rest of society are, the Lubavitcher chassidim and some others. But, the Lubavitcher seem to have it just right. Back to these youngsters shown in the video, they are a disgrace because whatever path they chose, they had no right besmirching any sect of Jews adhering to our holy Torah, to the world, no less. Also, since it is known that this Chasidic sect is extreme, why didn't these youngsters just leave the sect and be plain observant religious Jews? Obviously, they lived by rigidity but not by yirat Shamayim. They are just plain rebels. It could be forgiveable if they were interviewed by a Jewish outlet for Jews only. How disgusting they chose the wrong way in everything; the sin is theirs.

  3. With respect, I do not see any positive spin on this clip especially that you yourself are a Chosid and hopefully subscribe to the tennets of Chassidus. It puts everyone in a bad light. In fact it only encourages those who have doubts to go the route of these youngsters. It would be pruident to remove this.
