A NEW WAR IN LIBYA has begun Purim 2011 Interesting to note: If you turn the word Libya into Hebrew letters, it spells 'G-d's heart' (לב-יה). If you rearrange the letters in the Hebrew name for it (לוב), you get (לבו), or his (His) heart.
Whats The Connection?
When we finish reading the Megillah we say:Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who wages our battles, defends our rights, avenges the wrong done to us, punishes our oppressors in behalf, and brings retribution upon all our mortal enemies. Blessed are You Lord, who exacts payment in behalf of His people Israel from all their oppressors; God who delivers.
It is known that at the end of times Hashem will make it his business to wage wars against those who have attacked the Jewish nation. It is brought down is several places that Purim was the begging of this idea. Purim is an event that is forever lasting and constantly taking place even in our times. When the nations of the world make it a point to tackle down on Purim it is just a continuation of the biblical Purim. We can say clearly in our times that we see this continuation taking places.
Interesting to note Adolf Hitler banned and forbade the observance of Purim. He also declared it a capital offense for Christians or Jews to possess a copy of the Book of Esther. In a speech made on November 10, 1938, (the day after kristallnacht), Julius Streicher surmised that just as "the Jew butchered 75,000 Persians" in one night, to defend themselves the same fate would have befallen the German people had the Jews succeeded in inciting a war against Germany; the "Jews would have instituted a new Purim festival in Germany. Nazi attacks against Jews often coincided with Jewish festivals. On Purim 1942, ten Jews were hanged in Zduńska Wola to avenge the hanging of Haman's ten sons. In an apparent connection made by Hitler between his Nazi regime and the role of Haman, he stated in a speech made on January 30, 1944, that if the Nazis were defeated, the Jews could celebrate "a second Purim". Seconds before he was hanged, Streicher called out "Purim Fest 1946!"
