The Menorah Funeral - Photos
REPRINTED WITH PERMISSION FORM MPATHS.com
News reports from July 14th informed us of a significant tragedy for a Jewish family…
Four Israelis, including a grandfather and three teenage grandchildren visiting from Israel, were killed in Michigan Tuesday when their small Beechcraft plane crashed. The only survivor is a 13-year-old grandson who apparently fell out of the aircraft and is listed in critical condition with severe burns. The pilot lost control, apparently due to a technical failure, and the light aircraft dived on to an Interstate highway, hitting the median, overturning and bursting into flames. The grandfather, a resident of Skokie, Illinois, near Chicago, was identified as Moshe Menorah. The dead grandchildren were identified as Sara and Rickie, age 17, and Racheli, age 15.
Today, Erev Shabbat, the grandchildren were buried in the American Jewish cemetery outside Beit Shemesh, and the grandfather was buried in Har Nof. A visiting bocher knew the family and attended with my son. Here are the pictures they took of the funeral…
The crowed at the chapel at the Eitz ChaChaim cemetary outside of Beit Shemesh, Israel. Different synagogues and Jewish organizations in the US reserve sections for their members resting places in Israel here.
