World Cup help reduces crime in Tel Aviv
Have offenders in Tel Aviv turned into football fans? According
to statistics released by police in Tel Aviv, crime has fallen during
the build up to and during the weeks of the World Cup currently taking
place in Tel Aviv. The police document shows a clear change this year
from last year with a significant fall in breakages into properties
and car theft. Compared to the same period last year the evidence
appears pretty conclusive that football interest has had a positive
effect on would-be criminals. Since the start of the World Cup forced
entries to properties have dropped by 30%. Police have concluded that
potential vandals and burglars are safely inside their own homes in
front of their televisions watching the football. The good news is
that the World Cup is getting more exciting as it enters its knock out
stages, the bad news, the competition will be over in a few weeks
time.
