New iPhone Hits Apple Stores

At long last, fans of the iPhone can get their hands on the latest version, but not without battling the long lines. Thousands of New Yorkers around the city waited outside the Apple stores to buy the iPhone 4. Some pre-ordered them and were just waiting to pick them up while others were hoping to get lucky and buy one on the spot. Crowds were gathering all night long and camping out in the summer heat. Sticky, tired and hungry, everyone who spoke to NY1 said it was worth it. "Got it!" said one new iPhone owner. "I am very excited and I have to say I came in really, really quickly. I thought it was going to be a long process. I thought I was going to miss work. I'm going to be at work today, but I got my phone so now I'm happy, so it was worth it." "I've been up 24 hours straight," said another. "I got to go home, run home, shower and then hop on a bus and get to work and work for another eight hours." "I love the way that it looks, I love features and everything like that and I really don't like a blackberry anymore, so I'm going to be an iPhoner," said a third. The iPhone 4 is now available at Apple stores in the United States, France, Germany, the United Kingdom and Japan. It will go on sale at AT&T stores on Tuesday. By September, it will be available in 88 countries.
