Menucha 2
Menucha 2
Review by Meir Miller
After a full years wait since it was announced, the long awaited Menucha 2 is finally here. Bursting with lively songs full of classic Jewish instrumentals as well as the more modern sounds of electric guitars and vocoders, this album was worth the wait. Eli remains a musical genius and continually produces new material, each album fresher than the next. The first song, "Shma Yisroel", opens in the style of Vishei Yisroel with a guitar solo and then launches into a song rivaling the hit smash "Yehai" from The Chevra. The CD continues to please throughout with vocal harmonies and deep instumentals. Eli has reached cruising altitude with this album, although he is not relying on it. His musical innovation has refreshed and breathed new life into the Jewish music market and this album is just more proof of that. This CD is not just another mass produced EG project. This is Eli's proof to the world that he still has what it takes. The only question left, is how long EG will leave us waiting for the next album.
