Jewish Music Video Game
A Jewish Music Video Game!
A project which is not about creating new music but reformatting the old, A Jewish Music Video Game! this exciting project is nearing completion. It is a Jewish dance game for the pc much like dance dance revolution but with better graphics and featuring popular artists/vocalists like Avraham Fried, Eli Gerstner and YBC, and Dovid Gabay (to mention a few), in which 2 minute cuts of the songs are taken and created to dance moves that you follow along to on a foam or metal dance pad hooked up to your pc and receive scores. Sometimes Jewish music songs are long and repetitive and thus for this game the best 2 minutes have been extracted out of every song. Check out these YouTube links:
VIDEO 1 – a list of the songs featured in the game (needs to be updated but most are there) + a full song in regular gameplay mode.
VIDEO 2 – a mashup of me playing a few different songs (the video only captures the computer screen though)
VIDEO 3– Playing Im Lovon Garti on regular mode but I choose some wicked modifiers to challenge myself.
VIDEO 4 – Groove mode (woot!) Such a challenge because you play 4 songs in a row and the arrows are all over the place. Blinking, scrolling backwards, etc.
The Creator of this program, Faigy Grossman, says, "I am also constantly looking for upbeat songs that have universal frum appeal (this is the original mix… in the future I may come out with music mixes that have a more contemporary flavor for those who are interested but for now I want the game not to offend anyone), so any suggestions would be great! Bear in mind that not always can I receive music permissions which is why some of the obvious choices may be missing from the music list." You can Contact Grossman at : jewishdancegame@gmail.com
